Jesus called 12 men to be his disciples - ordinary blokes who failed him in many ways (one or two spectacularly!), yet he loved them, nurtured them, forgave them. MATCH wants to encourage CofE churches to reach men where they are, as they are - presenting the claims of Jesus Christ, and praying and watching as God is at work in them. We long to see men (and women) as disciples of Jesus, fulfilling all He has called them to be, and to do.
That the Church will be fruitful and whole, when men and women, boys and girls, are set free to worship Jesus Christ (in spirit and in truth) as they are made by God, nurtured as his disciples, and witness to the world using the complimentary gifts and skills which when united, reflect the full image of God.
We believe that the local church is the main agent of God in our communities and so we seek to provide encouragement, training and resources to help the local church as they seek to enable men to hear about Jesus.
MATCH (Men And The Church) is a network of ordained and lay people in the CofE committed to reaching un-churched/de-churched men with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and discipling them.
